First Male Alpine Skiing Racer from Canada to win a medal at the Olympics

Mr. Podborski was the first male Alpine Skiing racer from Canada to win a medal at the Olympics (doubled with World Championships); female racers from Canada did win medals before in the Olympics and World Championships (Lucile Wheeler, Ann Heggtveit, Nancy Greene, Kathy Kreiner). - Another male ski racer to win an Olympic Medal was Ed Podivinsky in the 1994-Downhill race.
