Arul Pragasam

Arul Pragasam was active in the Tamil independence movement, and is the estranged father of musician M.I.A. (Maya Arulpragasam). Arul Pragasam was one of the founding members of the militant group EROS, Eelam Revolutionary Organisation of Students. He was one of the first Tamils who received training from the PLO in Lebanon.

In recent years he has demilitarized his image and focuses on writing.

The name he currently goes by is AR Arudpragasam. He was a graduate student at the University of Cambridge. He however failed in obtaining his degree.

Under this name he has published two books. The first was a history of the Tamil homeland. The second was entitled "Monetary Exploitation."
