Ananda Marga College, established in 1966, is one of the oldest college in Purulia district, at Ananda Nagar, Pundag. It offers undergraduate courses in arts and sciences. It is affiliated to Sidho Kanho Birsha University.[1]

The Ananda Marga College was founded by Shrii PRABHAT RANJAN SARKAR, This is A RESIDENTIAL COLLEGE with Hostel facility for Boys. Shrii PR SARKAR, had a vision to elevate the educational status and improve the standard of living in the most backward areas of India through a comprehensive system of education.
Our education system aims at creating a vibrant and enriching atmosphere for flowering youth to make them good citizens, whether they become scientists, statesmen, philosophers or litterateurs. It empowers them with lofty morals, integrated character and a cosmic outlook so they can render valuable service to the human society. Our College has experienced and qualified lecturers.

Our curriculum emphasizes and insists upon high moral character building and development of not just their intellect but also of their intuition through spiritual meditation. Keeping this vision before them, the Education, Relief & Welfare Section (ERAWS) of Ananda Marga has started numerous Primary schools all over India and around the world – from the Philippines to Romania, from the Americas to Africa. In addition it has started a number of High Schools in Anandanagar and surrounding areas as well as in Tripura. OUR MOTTO – ‘Sá vidyá yá vimuktaye’ [That is knowledge which leads to complete liberation].

OUR VISION - Vidyá dadáti vinayam vinayádyáti pátratám Pátratat sevamápnoti seváddharma tato mokśam. [True knowledge leads to humility; Humility causes one to be established in the glory of humanity; From this Humanity comes dedicated service; Through service comes establishment in Dharma; From That (Dharma) comes salvation.]
