Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Getty kouros

Aloha. I see you aren't as active as you used to be. I was wondering if you might be able to add sources to Getty kouros so we can get it passed as a Good Article. Thanks. Viriditas (talk) 22:01, 29 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. The file File:Nolli map.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Orphaned map.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ~ Rob13Talk 17:27, 7 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Pediments of the Parthenon

Hey Twospoonfuls. First off, very interesting article, and very nice job with its creation! I would just suggest you visit the Manual of style for Wikipedia because the #1 issue with the page is with its citation style. I started to fix a little bit of it to give you an idea of what it should look it, but please make sure the rest of the page adheres to MOS:REFPUNCT. Citations don't need dots between them, and shouldn't have periods after them. They should be directly following the period at the end of the preceding sentence without a space in between. Let me know if you have any questions, we can work on it! SEMMENDINGER (talk) 20:24, 8 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm acquainted with the MoS, thanks. And despite its imperative tone it is not the Law of Moses; its guidelines are not requirements. However, if you feel enforcing the MoS is essential to your being I won't stop you. Twospoonfuls (εἰπέ μοι) 03:28, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Twospoonfuls. Re your recent edit at that article, yes I realise the citation, which is this one, is at the end of the clause. It's just that it costs a reader £3.50 to download a copy, unless they are able to visit the National Archive in person. I am guessing that you have access to a copy of that source and could verify the claim. I have searched online and not found any more accessible source. I wonder do you know of any. I guess in 1960 the City of Peterborough did indeed have a Chief Constable. It might be useful to know what his name was, but again I have searched in vain online for that. Many thanks for any light you can throw on this. Martinevans123 (talk) 12:14, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Peterborough Combined Police, Chief Constable Francis George Markin. Twospoonfuls (εἰπέ μοι) 12:48, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks. It might be useful to add those details with the link? I assume you are also unable to suggest any more accessible source. This fact still rather begs the question, for me at least, of why Mr Markin? Martinevans123 (talk) 13:08, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
