Bashar Jackson (born July 20, 1999), known professionally as Pop Smoke, is an American rapper and songwriter. He is signed to Republic Records. In April 2019, he released his song, “Welcome to the Party”, the lead single of his debut mixtape Meet the Woo (2019). He released the mixtape in July 2019. “Welcome to the Party” was made into two remixes featuring Nicki Minaj and Skepta in August 2019. In October 2019, he featured American rapper Lil Tjay on his single, “War”. In December 2019, he collaborated with American rapper Travis Scott on the song, “Gatti”, from Scott and his Cactus Jack members’ compilation album, JackBoys.

Early life

Bashar Jackson was born and raised on July 20, 1999, in Brooklyn, New York, U.S. In 2018, he began to record vocals after being in studios while other artists were recording songs and albums. He remixed Sheff G, Sleepy Hallow, and Fresh G’s September 2018 single "Panic, Pt. 3" for his own June 2019 single "Mpr”.

Career

In April 2019, he dropped his debut single, “Welcome to the Party, which is the lead single of his debut mixtape, Meet the Woo (2019). Two remixes came featuring Nicki Minaj and Skepta on August 16 and August 21, 2019. It even received a 92 remix with Prophecy MDR in December 2019.

In June 2019, he released two songs, “Mpr” and “Flexin’”.
