Vlakplaas was a farm that served as the headquarters of a counterinsurgency unit working for the apartheid government in South Africa. The counterinsurgency unit took its name from the farm. The unit that operated from there was commanded by Eugene De Kock. Vlakplaas is notorious as the sight of dozens of grisly murders.
