Looking for my talk page archive? You can find it by clicking on the "View history" button above. If there is indeed any merit in doing what Help:Archiving a talk page explains, I'd be glad to hear it. Right now, however, I see "archiving" as keeping two copies of the same message: One in the "archive" and one in the revision history. Both are equally less accessible to ordinary visitors. Revisions of a talk page never get deleted and the only person that can render them meaningfully inaccessible is a member of the Oversight team. |
Hello
Hello Flowing dreams. I noticed a comment of yours at a RfA talk page, didn't recognize your signature; so I stopped to look in on the account holder (you). I see you've already had an introduction to many areas of wikipedia, therefore I won't trouble you with a {{welcome}} template. About the only thing that comes to mind at the moment is your talk page. Deleting old conversations is fine, and well within the "rules" of WP, but there is also another option. It appears that you like to document your experiences here, so I offer a link to Help:Archiving a talk page. With that, I bid you adieu. — Ched (talk) 09:12, 24 October 2019 (UTC)
- Hello, Ched. 😊 I'm glad you dropped by. I cherish any communication with Wikipedians at a community level. Feel free to drop by if you ever need a 3rd opinion, or even if you're bursting with the enthusiasm to share a new joke. Or perhaps tell me about the quotation at the top of your userpage. If you intend to watchlist my userpage in hopes of reading new entries in my "Personal log", I'm afraid there won't be any new ones. I started it as a mean of being transparent with my fellow Wikipedians. It appears doing so is against the policy. But I'm not complaining.
- As for archiving my talk page threads, if there is indeed a merit in it, I'd be glad to hear it. Right now, the way I see it, "archiving" is just keeping two copies of the same message: One in the "archive" and one in the talk page's history. Both are equally less accessible to ordinary visitors. Revisions of a talk page never truly get deleted and the only person that can render them meaningfully inaccessible is a member of the suppression team.
