Maxwell Garrett
Maxwell "Maestro" Garrett is a fictional pilot from the [[Wing_Commander_(computer_game)|Wing Commander] series of computer games.
A golden boy from a priveleged lifestyle, Garrett found his niche within the Academy. Though a talented pilot, he was also troublesome and undisciplined. Regardless, his generally upbeat personality came to the attention of one Sen. James "Paladin" Taggart, one of the great heroes of the Kilrathi War. Taggart suggested Garrett look up a rather lonely fellow cadet named Lance Casey. The two found each other kindred spirits, and risked court-martial with their antics several times.
Eventually, the two were reassigned to the TCS Midway, the Confederation's brand-new supercarrier. Casey and Garrett were both onboard during the Nephilim invasion, and while Maestro never approached anywhere near Casey's level, he still performed well, flying as Casey's wingman on a number of missions, including the final assault on the Nephilim wormhole gate. Afterwards he transferred with fellow pilots Casey, T. "Zero" O'Hearn and Jean "Stiletto" Talvert to the TCS Cerberus for Black Ops purposes; his fate from that point on remains unknown.
Outside of the cockpit, he was known as energetic, if sometimes manic, and was frequently found near alcohol; astute players may draw parallels between him and another sometimes-unstable hotshot pilot, Maj. Tom "Maniac" Marshall. Wing Commander: Prophecy, however, featured less-than-effective characterization, and little else has been said about him.
