Hi Jimfbleak.
I have tried making a page for "Fantasticon USA" twice now, and it has been deleted both times for 'ambiguous advertising'. The first I understand, however when I created it the second time I had only written two sentences (which were both referenced). This is an event that my company hosts and I am unsure how to go about making a page that won't get deleted. Nothing on the second try was advertising the event, just information about what exactly the event was for. Can you help me so this does not keep happening? Thanks. Dear Jim,

Hope this message finds you well. I've been trying to publish a page lately regarding "Boursa Kuwait". I am the corporate communications manager at Boursa Kuwait.

Boursa Kuwait is a private entity that was established in April 2014, with the aim to take over and manage the Kuwait stock market and progressively transition its operations, while delivering on three main fronts; transparency, efficiency and accessibility.

The information on Wikipedia is all related to Kuwait Stock Exchange "Outdated" as Boursa Kuwait is now the official entity that manages the stock market in Kuwait.

Can you please assist me in knowing exactly what to do in order to publish a page about our company?

Thank you in advance.

Best regards,

Khalid.

Forest Therapy

Dear Jimfbleak, Thanks for alerting me to the COI regulations. However, I am in no way paid by any organisation or company related to the contents of the article. Hence, THERE IS NO CONFLICT OF INTEREST. I am merely very interested in the topic per se and as an academic I was keen to describe the very nature of Forest Therapy as an emerging medical practice.

I did my very best to reference appropriately and skip, where indicated, any <spammy> or <peacock> language. If you need any further information, please let me know. I am happy to amend where required.

Sincerely, GeopingoGeopingo (talk) 00:29, 5 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Received your message on Draft:EviCore Healthcare

Hello Jim,

Hope this message finds you well. I've been trying to publish a page regarding "eviCore Healthcare"- a medical benefits management (MBM) company in US. I have tried to publish this page two times. Both the times content was declined by giving the following reasons, below and finally deleted by you without giving any exact reason for deletion.

1. On January 20th “This submission's references do not adequately show the subject's notability. Wikipedia requires significant coverage (not just mere mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject—see the guidelines on the notability of organizations and companies, the golden ruleand learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue. Please improve the submission's referencing (see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners andHelp:Introduction to referencing/1), so that the information is verifiable, and there is clear evidence of why the subject is notable and worthy of inclusion in an encyclopedia. If additional reliable sources cannot be found for the subject, then it may not be suitable for Wikipedia at this time.” – After this feedback I made changes and publish draft again.

2. This page has been deleted. The deletion, protection, and move log for the page are provided below for reference. “10:15, 2 February 2018 Jimfbleak (talk | contribs) deleted page Draft:EviCore Healthcare (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion)”

Can you please assist me in knowing exactly what i need to do in order to publish my content here? Which part of the content did you find promotional? Still Is there any notability issue?

Please guide me. This will be great help to me

Forest Therapy

Dear Jimfbleak,

Thank you for the concise feedback to rectify existing inconsistencies and flaws with the proposed article. I will go through them and amend as suggested.

Unfortunately, you seem to have deleted even my draft article. There is nothing in my sandbox and I cannot find any link or reference to my draft nor the AfS itself which was critisized. Perhaps you are able to, at least, restore one draft version for me to work on?

Much appreciated, GeopingoGeopingo (talk) 03:02, 6 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Geopingo, I've restored Draft:Forest Therapy, and made these edits, partly MoS, but also to tone down the evangelism and unsourced claims. It still needs work, and you should note that claims of widespread acceptance of the benefits need good secondary sources, such as a national medical service. Primary journal article, especially when we can't access them, aren't suitable for such sweeping claims. It's still quite promotional in tone, so I suggest that you don't leave it too long before you work on it.
And the only citation I searched for seems to have full on-line access, please check the others! Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:31, 6 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Forest Therapy

Dear Jimfbleak,

Thank you so much for your kind assistance and advice! Meanwhile, I have collected all relevant references (yes, basically all of these are DOIs, so they can be accessed, downloaded and verified) for each of the benefits listed and will add them accordingly. Thank you also for your edits. I will amend the article where possible and, once done, resubmit it (AfS).

Your invaluable help in this matter is much appreciated.

Sincerely, GeopingoGeopingo (talk) 07:44, 6 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted while I was working on it!!

Why would you do that!!! Didn't you read my notes contesting the deletion tag, I am new to Wiki so there is a learning curve don't you realize? Can you tell me exactly why you deleted it, other than because you spotted the tag, its pretty clear that you may not have studied the issues? I have used other published wikis for Film titles as guidelines to see what is excepted for this type of article... I would appreciate your feedback. And can you reinstate the page so I dont have to start from scratch again. The page is Original Psychonana/sandbox/Mantra - Sounds into Silence.

You took the time to delete my page, then you can take the time to let me know why. I'm not a paid writer and I'm not trying to Promote our film in any manner. I just want t to have a wiki presence so that when people try to learn about this film they won't be presented with incorrect pages like this. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mantra_(2016_film)

And if this page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saving_Private_Ryan has been allowed to exist on Wikipedia for years then why can't my page for more than a few hours while it is being worked on. I am really disgusted.

Original Psychonana (talk) 14:03, 6 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

"I want people to be able to find out about our film" is a great example of conflict-of-interest promotional editing. Others have to find that your film is notable enough for them to report in reliable publications before wikipedia would allow an article about it to exist. Wikipedia is not for promotion of anyone's anything, merely to write about what is notable. DMacks (talk) 15:03, 6 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Since you are such an expert

And because you are so happy to delete hours and hours of my work without a fair review. Maybe you would be happy to create a basic page for this film we have produced. Let's see how well you can do it! Or do you prefer to be just destructive! Now that would be helpful to the Wiki community! https://www.mantramovie.com http://www.imdb.com/title/tt6622540/

Replied on user talk page, obvious COI editor, copyright violation, unreferenced promo for unreleased film. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:15, 6 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You might acknowledge that a future release date for a film does not necessarily mean it does not exist! Furthermore you should know that this film has been premiered last year in several film festivals 2 of which it won! It is hardly still in production! And If I had the chance I would have referenced all of this information.

Also your argument on WP:Too soon is ridiculous! FYI: These are the first 3 March 2018 film releases i could find i¡on IMDB: Just like our film, that you are so happy to obstruct!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Wrinkle_in_Time_(2018_film) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_Wish_(2018_film) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Sparrow

Furthermore regarding copyright, what are we supposed to do, ask the distributer to draft the wiki? Wouldn't that also be COI! How do all these films add their original poster images? And if its not them why aren't every one of them tagged as a copyright infringement!!!

You are being unreasonably harsh - I just want to put this film information on Wikipedia... like every other film has the opportunity to. Not jump through hoops for you!

Hi Jimfbleak, Thank you for the response. I'm writing this message on the response you gave me on User talk:Cwmhiraeth#Clarification on Nomination for speedy deletion of article Raghav Podar. I read the terms you mentioned in your message and henceforth will keep in mind to create any article in a neutral tone, which does not sound promotional.

I would also like to confirm that I am not associated with the person in any way and I am not paid directly or indirectly to write this article and so I do not fall under the COI category. The reason I wrote this article was because Raghav Podar is a known personality in the field of education in India and since Wikipedia has presence of notable persons, I thought of writing an article on Raghav Podar so that when people want to find any information about him can find it on a reliable source like Wikipedia as well.

I would like to rewrite the article on Raghav Podar whilst not making it sound promotional in nature once you restore it. Please let me know if I should wait for you to restore the article or write a new article altogether? Regards, Heena jatania (talk)Heena jatania (talk) 10:50, 9 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Heena jatania, thanks for the message. I note that you say I am not associated with the person in any way, yet here you say that this carefully posed picture is your own work (and the metadata confirms that it was taken with a camera, not downloaded), so that first statement can't be strictly true. Please provide clarification. I remind you again that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message.
To answer your original question, we often restore deleted text on request, but for legal reasons we don't do so for copyright violations. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:03, 9 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Detrimental to human knowledge

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Relativizing_proof is an article that has no longer been available since 2015, thanks to you. This is an important concept in mathematics - deleted because of a copyright infringement? The page you say it was infringing on isn't in English and provides no accessible knowledge on the subject. Why not remove the offending material from the article instead of removing the entire article?

You clearly don't have the mathematical knowledge to write or edit the article yourself, so instead, you've burnt it to the ground like so many books at Alexandria... and now, for years, there's been no wikipedia article on this extremely important subject in mathematics. At least you have posted pretty pictures of birds for everyone.Kemery720 (talk) 01:21, 11 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
