Marie is an American variety show hosted by and starring Marie Osmond that aired on NBC from December 12, 1980 to September 26, 1981 with a total of six episodes produced over one season.
Synopsis
Marie was the attempt by Marie Osmond to return to variety television and headline her own show following a successful three-year run on Donny & Marie alongside brother Donny from 1976 to 1979.
The show continued the same format of a traditional variety show (similar to Donny & Marie) which featured musical numbers, comedy sketches and various guest stars every week. Guest stars included TV personalities and musical artists such as Gavin MacLeod, Jeff Conaway, Tony Orlando, The Pointer Sisters, Andy Williams, Scott Baio, Sally Struthers, David Copperfield, Grant Goodeve, The Commodores and Andy Gibb.
Unfortunately, due to low ratings, NBC cancelled Marie after six episodes. The series was produced by the Osmond family's production company Osmond Productions.
