Kevin Love
Kevin Love is a high-school basketball player from Lake Oswego, OR who is generally regarded as one of the top 2 players in the nation from the Class of 2007. He will be starting his senior year in the fall of 2006 at Lake Oswego High School, and has declared that he intends to play for UCLA after graduation high school. He stands 6 ft 8 in tall.
In 2006, Love led his team to an Oregon State 4A Championship defeating South Medford 59-57, and fellow national standout Kyle Singler. The win gave Lake Oswego High School its first-ever basketball state championship.
Love is a two-time Oregon State player of the year and scored over 800 points in the 2005-2006 season.
Love was recruited from the time he was in Junior High but narrowed his college choices to UCLA and North Carolina by the spring of 2005. In late July, Love announced from Las Vegas that he intends to play for the University of California, Los Angeles in 2007.
His skills have brought on similar, though not quite equal amounts of publicity and buzz as high-school prodigy LeBron James, with the possibility of several games next season being televised on ESPN.
He is a nephew of Mike Love of The Beach Boys.
