rain forest cake sale
On Friday 13th April Alderman Knight School
had a „Green Cake Sale‟. The aim of this was to raise money to save an acre of rainforest.
green cakes were made and

enrichment program
Enrichment
Alderman Knight School are introducing an enrichment programme that will run on Friday afternoons once a fortnight. There will be a wide range of alternative curriculum activities aimed at enriching the pupils' experiences and raise self esteem and confidence. The activities are aimed at developing skills in team building, independent learning, respect and working with others thus raising standards throughout the school life. Aims of the Enrichment Programme
To provide pupils with new and exciting experiences.
Enrichment aims to encourage pupil's social and communication skills.
The sessions will promote positive behaviour, teamwork, and communication and to encourage pupils to take on leadership roles.
To provide safe and supervised environment for pupils to enjoy and come together from different tutor groups and year groups.

peer mentoring
Alderman Knight School are introducing a new programme of Peer Mentors at Key Stage 3 and 4 to help develop leadership and confidence skills in pupils and provide a system of peer support across the school. All Peer Mentors will be given training on supporting other pupils and the skills they will need. A Peer Mentor's overall role is to help other pupils. The programme builds on pupils talking with their peers to discuss concerns, worries and problems. Trained Peer Mentors can listen to and support their peers, helping them to reach a solution.
The program will help Peer Mentors by:
Developing confidence and responsibility and making the most of a pupils' abilities. Preparing to play an active role as citizens. Developing good relationships and respecting the differences between people.
Alongside the over-arching role of support, Peer Mentors will be assigned specific responsibilities that will play to their individual strengths. Responsibilities might include:
Helping with primary playtime.
Quiet room duty.
"Buddy bench”
Listening to weaker readers.
Academic help, etc. Peer mentors will be expected to continue in their role for around six months. After that time, a new set of Peer Mentors will be trained and appointed. Over the course of their time at Alderman Knight School, all pupils will be given the opportunity and encouraged to develop the skills necessary to be considered for the role of Peer Mentor.(source:http://www.aldermanknight.gloucs.sch.uk/?pid=STD397)
