Template:Anthropology collapsible Cultural Anthropology is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the American Anthropological Association on behalf of the Society for Cultural Anthropology. Founded in 1986, the journal soon developed a reputation for interrogating and challenging the boundaries of anthropology as a discipline. Today, it invites submissions on topics including new media and technology, finance, poverty, violence, humanitarianism, sovereignty, race, and sexuality. In 2014, it became the first major English-language anthropology journal to transition from a subscription model to open access. The current editorial collective is comprised of Dominic Boyer, James Faubion, and Cymene Howe (Rice University).
