Rationale

Per WP:MUSIC, an ensemble is notable when: "Is an ensemble which contains two or more independently notable musicians, or is a musician who has been a member of two or more independently notable ensembles." The band's only notable member is Josh Klinghoffer. Also, the band does not have substantial news coverage to satisfy WP:N. avs5221 (talk) 08:20, 9 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes but not being notable does not make it speedy deletable by WP:CSD#A7. I would suggest changing it to a redirect to an appropriate target or if you think it is not useful as a redirect and wish to delete it then take it to WP:AfD. Polargeo (talk) 14:30, 9 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Is a musician who has been a member of two or more independently notable ensembles" -- 1. Red Hot Chili Peppers - 2. Gnarls Barkley -- Does that count? My personal opinion is that wikipedia article deletion criteria are interpreted too strictly, but I'm curious what a hard-liner will think of the argument that both RHCP and Gnarls being associated with Dot Hacker qualifies as evidence of notability, for even a strict interpretation of the rule -- I think it does qualify in light of the phrase ". . . Please note that the failure to meet any of these criteria does not mean an article must be deleted; conversely, meeting any of these criteria does not mean that an article must be kept. These are merely rules of thumb used by some editors . . . ". Using this as a "rule of thumb" I would argue it's significant that Klinghoffer is associated with both Gnarls and the Chili Peppers, even though the other bandmates are not associated with the Chili Peppers.
