Shingle can refer to a covering element as a roof shingle or wall shingle, including:
- Shake (shingle), a wooden shingle that is made from split logs. The worker who makes shingles in called a shingle weaver.
- Wood shingle, in modern usage this term is distinguished from a shake by being sawn rather than split out of a bolt (prepared piece) of a log and has a more rustic appearance. Shingle oak derived its name from being used for shingles in the past.
