Chinese Dream

The Chinese Dream is a phrase used by the Communist Party of China and the government of the People's Republic of China to describe the capitalist dream that many rural Chinese farmers have of moving to the city and making millions, helping out Chinese economic growth in the process.

The idea was put forward by the new CPC General Secretary Xi Jinping on 29 November 2012. The government hoped a very nationalist China and pro-Chinese society, while promoting innovation and technology to re-achieve the international position China held during the Middle Ages, when they were the most advanced society on Earth.
