Tivoli Theatre of Varieties
The Tivoli Music Hall was a popular English music hall based in the Strand, in the West End of London. It was designed and built by Frank Matcham in 1889 and closed in 1914. It was built opposite the Adelphi Theatre[1] on the site of the Tivoli Beer Garden and Restaurant.[2]
The hall remained shut until 1922 when it was replaced by a Cinema called The Tivoli Picture TheatreCite error: A <ref> tag is missing the closing </ref> (see the help page). The Cinema closed in 1957 and the building was finally demolished. The name was also adopted by many other British music hall theatres which were located elsewhere in England.[1]
