Grand Tarakan Mall is a mall in the Tarakan, East Kalimantan, one of the major cities in Borneo. The Jarkata Post calls it "one of the biggest shopping centers in the city—and it is also the biggest in the entire region of Kalimantan. [ Jakarta Post, October 1, 2010,[1]</ref>. The mall was built in 2005, in a fifteen story building; the lower three are used for the mall, the upper 15 for an hotel.

The Mall is a central location where student congregate, and demonstrations sometimes take place [1][2][3]
