Zubovo-Polyansky District (Russian: Зу́бово-Поля́нский райо́н; Moksha: Зубунь район; Erzya: Пейкужо буе) is an administrative[1] and municipal[7] district (raion), one of the twenty-two in the Republic of Mordovia, Russia. It is located in the west of the republic. The area of the district is 2,710 square kilometers (1,050 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the urban locality (an urban-type settlement) of Zubova Polyana.[3] Population: 59,256 (2010 Census);[5] 65,735 (2002 Census);[9] 69,353 (1989 Soviet census).[10] The population of Zubova Polyana accounts for 17.5% of the district's total population.[5]
