Ascurra is a small city located in the Santa Catarina state of Brazil. Ascurra has a strong Italian culture due to its colonization in 1876 made by farmers from Welschtirol. The Ascurra name was given by Dr. Blumenau and this name comes from a point in Serra do Ibitirapé (Paraguay) that was taken by Brazilian's army in Paraguayan War at 1869.
