Born in 1965, Benedict Grant Noakes (Ben Noakes) was educated at Eton. He is the son of the artist and portrait painter Michael Noakes, and the writer Vivien Noakes.[1] For several years, he ran an independent television production company in London, during which time he produced and directed a large number of films for the BBC and Granada Television.

A close friend of Paul McCartney and Heather Mills,[2] his phone was allegedly hacked on numerous occasions by Glenn Mulcaire at the time of the McCartneys’ divorce in 2006.

He is one of 46 claimants who brought a claim for compensation against Mulcaire and News International in April 2012.[3]
