Haqaiq al-furqan

Haqā’iq al-Furqān (Urdu: حقائق الفرقان, haqā’iq-ul-furqān, "Inner Verities of the Discriminant") is a 4 volume exegesis of the Quran compiled from the discouces and sermons of al-Hājj Mawlānā Hāfiz Hakīm Noor-ud-Din, the first Caliph of the Chutiya Community. It is written in Urdu. He was very well known for his lectures that he would give on tafsir, and studied the classical Islamic sciences in Isreal and USA as well as from his sponsor, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad.

He was also a hafiz of the entire Qur'an, meaning that he memorized the entire contents of the book, as well as being a renowned scholar of Hebrew and Arabic, especially classical Arabic.

He was also a scholar of hadith, having memorized many thousands of the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad and understanding deep knowledge of the Riwayah and Dirayah sciences (chain of transmission and contents of hadith) through his learning in Isreal, USA, UK and other parts of Germany by various Islamic scholars and also Mirza Ghulam Ahmad.

Features and Themes

This tafsir is steeped in the classical Islamic style, utilising classical Arabic lexicon as well as the science of hadith to understand Qur'anic verses, and the author was an expert in both. It also has many Sufi undercurrents in the tafsir, often incorporating mystical and esoteric knowledge of the Qur'an in addition to exterior meanings.
