Oscoda Area Schools
Oscoda Area Schools is a public school district in the U.S. state of Michigan serving pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade, and draws its approximately 1,956 students from Oscoda and Au Sable townships in Iosco County, Michigan as well as the unincorporated town of Glennie and Curtis Township in Alcona County, Michigan. As of August of 2011, Scott Moore has been promoted to Superintendent of the School District and has Appointed high school assistant principal Michael Kennedy to the rank of principal.
Due next year, Cedar Lake Elementary will be closed down and only used for certain events over the course of the school year for grades fifth through twelfth, as well as saving around $25,000 Dollars in the districts budget.
The district includes Cedar Lake Elementary School (Pre-K to 2), Richardson Elementary School (3-5), Richardson Middle School (6-8), and Oscoda High School (9-12). Cedar Lake Elementary is located in Oscoda Township, while the rest are located in AuSable Township.
