Wakehurst Place
The mansion at Wakehurst Place in Ardingly, West Sussex, England. The house is a late 16th-century gentry house that was the residence of Gerald Loder, 1st Baron Wakehurst, who was largely responsible for the garden. He spent 33 developing the gardens, which take up about two square kilometres (500 acres). The property belongs to the National Trust and is managed by the Royal Botanic Gardens.Photo: Diliff
