Early life and education
An only child, she was born and raised in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.[1]

Career
Since 2010, Banerjee is appearing as the protagonist, Anandi, on the television series Balika Vadhu, first aired on the Colors channel.[1] She won the role — to appear as an older Anandi because of a five-year leap in the program's storyline — through an SMS poll.[1]
