Official Seal of the President

The Official Seal of the President of Ireland (Irish: Séala Oifigiúil Uachtarán na hÉireann) is a seal used by the President of Ireland to be affixed to every "...order, commission, warrant, or other instrument..."[1] which the president has witnessed. The seal remains in the custody of the current President or the Presidential Commission.

The official seal has the word "Éire" in Gaelic script, and uses the modified harp that is used as the official state symbol on coins and documents of the Republic of Ireland. The official seal is similar to the design of the Great Seal of the Irish Free State which was itself under the custody of the Governor-General of the Irish Free State.
