John Barclay (1758, Perthshire - 1826) was a Scottish comparative anatomist and director of the Highland Society of Scotland.

He was the nephew of John Barclay (1734-98), who founded the Berean religious sect.

Barclay supported his former pupil William Dick when he established his Dick Veterinary School.

Barclay gave his large collection of specimens to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1821, and they can now be seen at Surgeons' Hall.

His former pupil Robert Knox, infamous for his involvment in the Burke and Hare murders, took over Barclay's classes after his death.
