"Button Off My Shirt"
Song

"Button Off My Shirt", released in 1988, is a song made famous by country pop singer Ronnie Milsap.

Originally exclusive to album Heart & Soul, the song was later featured on a number of his compilation albums. It was also re-recorded in 1996 and included on a separate studio album.

The song talks of an ended relationship, where Milsap compares the former lover to a missing button from his shirt – "just an everyday distraction" which "some day I will replace".

Success & Reception

Although it did not top the Billboard country charts like many of Milsap's singles, "Button Off My Shirt" still became a major hit and eventually peaked at #4. It still receives occasional airplay to this day and is still played at several of Milsap's concerts.
