Is this guy hurting???

Is this guy hurting??? The only reason I ask this is because I know that (1) this guy's investments seem to be centered on what is called the "recreational dollar", i.e. his investments depend on well-off members of the West willing to spend discretionary money (assuming they still have it) on things like foreign vacations, (2) Dubai is hurting (and hurting badly - tourists down sharply and investor interest down sharply), and that Atlantis resort appears to be a HUGE investment in terms of money and (3) my understanding is that his Bahamas resort is basically a double of what he built in Dubai (i.e. huge investment) and it is almost entirely dependent on American tourist dollars, and my understanding is that the Bahamas is hurting with regards to American tourists - and those that ARE still travelling there are going for lower-cost vacations - and my understanding is that the costs of running the fabulous resort he built (and I am told it IS fabulous) are huge. I would love to see him make it, but he seems to me to be sort of like all the owners of casinos in Las Vegas (Las Vegas is hurting BAD). Anybody know how much this guy financed his Dubai and Bahamas developments with debt, and how much with equity??? If he's 100% equity, well then, he's probably fine - but if he's like the average casino owner in Las Vegas, then he did it with huge amounts of debt. I'm just wondering. Anybody know??? Thanks in advance to anybody that knows.86.162.236.56 (talk) 11:28, 16 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
