Shropshire (including Telford and Wrekin) has 22 settlements which are officially towns. Many of them are very small (such as Clun and Cleobury Mortimer) and there are many villages in the county, such as Bayston Hill and Albrighton, that are larger than the smaller of these towns.

Out of the 22 towns, 6 are in Telford and Wrekin, of which all but Newport now make up the Telford new town.

The six main towns of Shropshire are (in order of size) - Telford, Shrewsbury, Oswestry, Bridgnorth, Newport and Ludlow.

See also Category: Villages in Shropshire for more settlements in the county.
