TC2000 Championship
The TC 2000 is a series of races for tourism cars which is held each year in Argentina. The Championship was established in 1980. Engines are limited to 2000 cc. Many technologies that have featured in production cars are not allowed, such as variable valve timing, variable intake geometry, ABS brakes and traction control. The manufacturer teams includes Ford YPF who runs Focuses, Chevrolet Elaion who runs Astras, Honda Petrobras who runs Civics, Toyota Team Argentina who runs Corollas, Mitsubishi Racing who runs Lancers and Renault Team TC2000 who runs Meganes. There are also a lot of independent teams who races Volkswagens Polo and Bora, Peugeot 307, Astras, Meganes and others. In the 80´s the series where raced by Renault Fuego, Ford Taunus and Peugeot 504 among others.
