Lassana Diarra (Born 10/ 03/ 1985 in Paris, France) is footballer (soccer player) who moved to English Premier League club Chelsea from French Ligue 2 side Le Havre for an undisclosed fee in July 2005. Capped 5 times at U-21 level for France, Diarra has been described as a Defensive Midfielder, who can also play as in defence. Diarra was signed by Chelsea after impressing on a 2-week trial. He has been reported as being groomed as a long term replacement for current Chelsea midfielder Claude Makelele
