Georgina Byrne, (neé Ahern) (born May 4, 1979, in Dublin, Ireland) is the daughter of the Irish Taoiseach (prime minister), Bertie Ahern and his estranged wife, Miriam Patricia Kelly. She has a younger sister, novelist Cecelia Ahern.
Personal life
Georgina married her childhood sweetheart, Westlife star Nicky Byrne on 5 August, 2003 at the Wicklow Registry Office, Wicklow, County Wicklow, Ireland. [1] The civil ceremony was followed on Saturday August 9 by a church blessing at the Roman Catholic Church of St Pierre et St Paul in Gallardon, Eure-et-Loir, France and a reception at the nearby 16th century Château d'Esclimont.[2]
Georgina gave birth to non-identical twin sons, Rocco Bertie and Jay Nicky Byrne, at the National Maternity Hospital, Holles Street in Dublin at 09:55 on Friday 20 April 2007, 6 weeks premature.[3].
Rocco's godparents are Nicky's sister Gillian Byrne and her husband Mark Gallagher. Jay's godparents are Georgina's sister Cecelia Ahern and Nicky's brother Adam Byrne.[4]
Rocco and Jay were christened on 15 July 2007 in the Saint Sylvester Church in Malahide, Dublin.[5]
