Spielberg is a Marktgemeinde located in the Bezirk Knittelfeld in Styria, Austria.
General
The township Spielberg, with a population of about 5000 habitants, is located northern the Mur in the east of the Aichfeld, between the cities Zeltweg and Knittelfeld. The municipal area of Knittelfeld is grown together with a part of the township. Since 1986 Spielberg is a Marktgemeinde. Within the district your can find both municipal and countrified mintages.
Structure
The township is composed of 9 Katastralgemeinden, Pausendorf with 1500 habitants is the major Katastralgemeinde. The Katastralgemeinde Spielberg whereas is just a little part of the township but gives the hole municipality its name.

Politics
The dominating position of the SPÖ in the township consits foremost since 1960, when the countrified township became a municipal municipality mostly because a lot of industry firms above all the Austria Antriebstechnik AG (ATB) lowered in the township.
