Fictional?

Can someone please cite a source that states that this is completely fictional? Is it not even tangentially based on a similar event? I was unable to find that information in the IMDB page. Check out the commentary if you have the DVD, and let me know what John has to say. - Asarkees

In the beginning of the DVD commentary, he says "In the beginning it has this thing that says 'All this was true' and everything. You'd be surprised at how many people really believed that. I have people who say, 'Well, where can I get the book?' ... People really believed that this was true in the beginning, that it was based on a true crime book."
