Anna Hall was a dazzling beauty who caught the eye of Elliot Roosevelt. Elliot married her when he was 23 and she was 19. The 3 children they bore were Eleanor, Elliot Jr., and Hall. Eleanor would go on to become first lady of the United States of America when she marries Franklin D. Roosevelt. Despite her beauty, she was somewhat ashamed of Eleanor's plainess and treated her sons better. When Eleanor was eight, she contracted diphtheria and died.
