Daiki Kameda (亀田 大毅, Kameda Daiki) (1989-01-06 in Osaka, Japan) is a Japanese professional boxer in the flyweight division. He is one of the three Kameda brothers to take up boxing. His older brother, Koki Kameda, is a current boxing champion and his younger brother, Tomoki, is also training to become a professional boxer.

He lost to Daisuke Naito in October 11th, 2007. Despite making comments before the match that he will commit seppuku if he lost, his manager has confirmed that he will not. His boxing licence has been suspended by the Japan Boxing Commission for one year because of the misconducts that he committed during the match.[1]

Family

Kameda and his two brothers are the most well known boxers in Japan. Their father began training them when they were young, and Koki was featured in a television series after winning several amateur tournaments. Kameda's youngest brother, Tomoki, had been training for the Beijing Olympics, but was told he was too young to qualify for the Olympics.

Professional Career

Kameda lost to Daisuke Naito, then the WBC flyweight champion, in Naito's first title defense on October 11, 2007.

Kameda has made it his custom to sing a song for the audience after each of his victories. [2]
