Date of Dodoma being made Capital

WHEN WAS DODOMA MADE CAPITAL CITY?????

yeah, i think the capital is still Dar es Salam, although Dodoma is being planned to be the new capital

Dodoma is the capital city now. According to this website it was announced as so in 1974. The exact date of the change seems to be unclear (was there an official date?) but Dodoma is definitely the national capital now. Woodwardmw 15:45, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The shift from Dar es Salaam to Dodoma was part of the presidental aspirations for a philosophy of African socialism in Tanzania. It thus represented a radical departure from European concepts of the characteristics and the function of a capital city. The site of Dodoma in central Tanzania ...
