Sheikh Bedreddin was a controversial Sheikh from Anatolia he was hung for his part (righly or wrongly) in an attempted revolt against the Sultan.

His writings were condemned by a number of Ottoman religious scholars while others praise them, hs is also a popular figure amongst Turkeys left with even some such as Zulfu Livaneli composing a song about him.
