Chen Chun-han (June 15, 1983 – February 11, 2024)[1] (traditional Chinese: 陳俊翰; simplified Chinese: 陈俊翰; pinyin: Chén Jùnhàn) was a Taiwanese lawyer, legal educator, advocate for disabilities, post-doctoral researcher at the Academia Sinica's Institute of Legal Studies, and member of the Executive Yuan's Subcommittee on the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights.[2][3]
Early life and education
Born in the city of Hsinchu, Chen was afflicted with spinal muscular atrophy. He could only move one finger, his mouth, and his eyes.[4] Despite his hardships, Chen graduated from National Taiwan University (NTU) with a double-bachelors in Accounting and Law; he graduated with a Masters in Law from NTU's Institute of Legal Studies. He further obtained an LL.M from Harvard University and an S.J.D from University of Michigan Law School. Chen was licensed to pratice law in New York.[5][6][7][8]
Death
On February 11, 2024, Chen died at the National Taiwan University Hospital Hsinchu North District Branch after fighting a cold-related lung infection.[9]
