Phil Raskin is a world-renowned drummer, percussionist, and producer with over four decades of professional experience. His extensive travels in his career have taken him to 38 countries on six continents. Raised in Cleveland, Ohio, he began performing as a teenager, mentored by legendary guitarist Bill DeArango. He has performed with many internationally acclaimed musicians, including Joe Lovano, Mike Gibbs, Mick Goodrick, George Garzone, Billy Drewes, Skip Hadden, Jamey Haddad, Abraham Laboriel, Dave Kikoski, Scott Robinson, and Kenny Werner among many others, and shared the stage with some of the greatest performers in jazz history, including George Benson, Kenny Burrell, Roy Ayers, Pharoah Sanders, Stan Getz, Gary Burton, and Weather Report. Raskin’s first album "Satya", is a tribute to the Yoga precept of living in truthfulness, it received wide critical acclaim upon its release in March of 2022 on Raskin’s newly founded label, Resonant Artists. He has produced nine albums for the label including historically important archival re-issues featuring some of the most influential improvisational music artists to date. He released his second album, "Songs of The Fathers" a tribute to NEA Jazz Master South African pianist and composer Abdullah Ibrahim in March of 2024. The album has received accolades across the music industry and is featured in broadcasts in more than 25 regions worldwide. A member of the Jazz Education Network, in 2024 he performed workshops at Berklee College of Music based on the Rhythmelodics concept he developed when writing the arrangements for the release of the album. He contributed an extensive interview to award-winning author Sammy Stein which was included in the October 2024 release of her latest book "Candid" written in response to the report "Misogyny in Music" issued by the House of Commons, Women and Equalities Committee, in the UK. He is aptly described by the author; “Phil Raskin is a musician on a mission - to reach out to others, demonstrating the power of music and creating a positive force.” -Sammy Stein
