Prosper is an Australian television drama series for Stan,[1] released on 18 January 2024.[2] Produced by Jason Stevens and Andrew Walker and directed by Jennifer Lacey and Shaun Wilson, the series follows the family of the U Star Church, when the founder announces an ambitious plan to expand the church in to the states, a scandal from inside the family threatens to tear their faith and ambition apart.

Plot

Cal Quinn the pastor of the U Star megachurch announces a bold plan to expand the church into the United States to the surprise of his family, a scandal threatens to erupt from within as Cal deals with being unfaithful to his wife and deals with the suicide of a young congregation member, Abi stands by her husband and his ambitions, as the family hide their own secrets from each other. .[3][4]

The location used for the U Star church was the Sydney Coliseum in Rooty Hill.[4]

Reception

David Knox of TV Tonight rated the series 3+12 stars citing that not many of the characters in the show were likeable and it felt cold due to the lack of colour, Knox said the series had a lot of potential.[4]

Anthony Morris of ScreenHub rated the series 4 stars citing that Roxburgh was completely convincing as Cal.[8]
