Make some clarifications

Can we make an article separating the Final Four format per se from its implementation in men's basketball? Aeron Valderrama (talk) Aeron Valderrama (talk) 19:45, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

– As far as I can tell, final four is a generic term, except in the context of the (American) NCAA Final Four, in which case it is their trademark. Dicklyon (talk) 05:00, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

AFAIK, these terms in the Philippines are proper names, which may or may not be trademarked, and are treated as such by WP:RS. The rules of grammar do not limit proper nouns to trademarks, which is purely a commercial enterprise. Howard the Duck (talk) 09:09, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I mentioned trademark because MOS:TM explains why it's capped in NCAA Final Four in spite of the fact that it's obviously not a proper name, but a plain description, as explained at final four. Dicklyon (talk) 05:49, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Obviously, WP:RS treat it as a proper name. You don't need trademarks to transform phrases to proper names. Howard the Duck (talk) 10:22, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose: per Howard the Duck argument. 98𝚃𝙸𝙶𝙴𝚁𝙸𝚄𝚂[𝚃𝙰𝙻𝙺] 11:57, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
