It appears that some of the stranglehold may be relieving with the disposal of a few editors, whether it be forced or unforced. Sayonara to some, good riddance to others. We may be entering a new phase. The Rambling Man (Keep wearing the mask...) 21:26, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Back in the game

Ah, the fresh air of a new beginning. All requests welcome, in particular article reviews at GAN or FAC. I think I'm banned at ITN so that's off the cards, so please don't ask me to do anything there in case I mess up and get a silly block. Otherwise, LET'S GO! Welcome back! GAN's eternally crushed by a backlog nowadays, your help there would be great. AryKun (talk) 15:07, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

good news! I have 2 GAN open, see my user page, and 2 DYK, and remember your review of Barrie Kosky, still (saw several of his always interesting productions in the meantime). Samuel Kummer to be nominated today, sad story. - I love to have Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine on the Main page. Check out "music" for a row of double basses (and bassists) ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:21, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
ps: one DYK nom was approved --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:32, 30 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I know you were active at OTD in the past; it's basically dormant right now, with no updated sets in three weeks. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 00:55, 1 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi TRM, great to see you back. Also, congratulations on the Tractor Boys' return to the PL! I just hope you will enjoy it more than we have this season.. Eem dik doun in toene (talk) 16:15, 4 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Shock horror

I'm going to have to play catch-up with The Boat Race 2023 and the The Boat Race 2024, and I don't EVEN WANT TO START WITH 2024 English Football League play-offs. In my absence this has gone to shit....!! The Rambling Man (Been a while, I know......) 22:53, 29 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Good to see you back. I was very frustrated on the day of this year's Boat Race searching for information across news and official websites that should have been under one Wikipedia article. I thought about improving the 2024 article but didn't have the capacity. — Bilorv (talk) 13:42, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, same. I thought I might try and valiantly keep the good ship TRM afloat while the great man was away, but sadly I rather failed. The best I've achieved is a half-finished draft of last year's League 2 play-off final. Real life has not really allowed me extended content-creation time in the last couple of years... 😔 I'll try to muck in where I can though, maybe together we can catch things up.  — Amakuru (talk) 14:16, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Of course, I was going to have to invest a LOT of time this year in the Championship play-offs articles, if it weren't for the inconvenient and pesky fact that Ipswich just did promotion the "easy" way....! The Rambling Man (Been a while, I know......) 15:47, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A present for you

I see you got 2019 FA Cup final through FAC and it is scheduled for the main page on cup final day. I just uploaded File:2019 FA Cup final.jpg to Commons which you may find of use. I'd add it myself but last time I tried image stuff on mobile was a disaster. Oldelpaso (talk) 10:35, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hey! I'll see what I can do with it! Cheers! The Rambling Man (Been a while, I know......) 13:29, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you today for the article on the Main page, introduced (in 2021): "This article is about the 2019 running of the oldest association football cup competition in the world. Hopefully even non-experts will be able to negotiate their way through it and perhaps even learn something."! - Yes! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:25, 25 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Gerda. These kind of articles really brought out some anti-"soccer" bias in some editors who simply couldn't tell the difference between a tie and a tie, had no idea what a reserve was, and let's not even get into offside....!! Thankfully sense prevailed and we some pretty decent articles floating around about these matches. I appreciate your note! Hello

@The Rambling Man Hey man, I want to ask if you can comment on any improvements for an article Nestory Irankunda. I am looking to promote it to a featured article but I'm unsure if it meets the criteria. Thanks, JC Kotisow (talk) 13:05, 1 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@The Rambling Man Sorry if I come a bit rude or straightforward btw. I would like to know your thoughts. JC Kotisow (talk) 13:06, 1 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
