Cannings Foods Limited was a Trinidadian company that wasfounded by Ernst Canning.It started operations as a grocery store.Then they introduced dairy products including ice cream,baked goods,poultry processing and soft drinks.The supermarket hilo was started in 1950 as the first self service store in Trinidad and Tobago.It was then purchased by Neal and Massey Limited.In the 1990's the canings group ceased to operate with the exception of hilo supermarket.But the cannings name was transfered to cocacola for the soft driks.
