Trio Mio
Mario TJ Cassela (born 22 October 2004)[1] popularly known as Trio Mio is a Kenyan rapper, singer and songwriter.[2] He rose to fame in 2020 with his hit song “Cheza Kama Wewe”, which became a popular anthem among the youth.[3] He has collaborated with other prominent Kenyan artists such as Mejja, Exray, and Nellythegoon.[4]

Early life and education
Trio Mio was born in Nairobi, Kenya, in 2004 to a father of Italian and Congolese descent and a Kenyan mother.[5] He completed his high school education in 2022 and sat for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exams in November 2022.[6]
Career
Trio Mio released his debut EP, “Son of the City,” in early 2020, which included “Cheza Kama Wewe” and other popular songs such as “Serereka” and "Kanairo". The EP received positive reviews from critics and fans, and topped the Kenyan charts for two weeks. Trio Mio has since collaborated with various local and international artists, such as Shari Afrika, Tunu, Moeazy, Wiz Khalifa,[7] Wakadinali, A Pass, Masauti, Sauti Sol, and Breeder. His music is characterized by his versatile and dynamic style, blending rap, hip hop, and afrobeat genres.
