The Closer's Barnstar may be awarded to editors who've made particularly tough or tedious discussion closures.

Nice color but the center-icon doesn't really represent closure, even though it has "closed" on it, can't really read it. The pin on the icon also contradicts a closure. Jerm (talk) 21:20, 21 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the feedback Jerm! I've redesigned it, let me know what you think now! ––FormalDude talk 02:41, 15 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
FormalDude I like it, much better design. The hammer better symbolizes a closure. Jerm (talk) 13:52, 18 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Question

Are there categories of users with a certain barnstar? Thank you, 184.19.98.82 (talk) 14:45, 2 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No, there is not. Jerm (talk) 15:07, 2 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Splitting topical barnstars

I'm proposing to separate the topical barnstars from WP:BARN. The page has increased, making the scroll time much more slower. There is also the other topical barnstars: Wikipedia:Awards by WikiProject that need to be merged. I've been merging and remastering old barnstars, but it has been more slower to navigate WP:BARN because of the amount of barnstars being added. This proposal will move the Topical barnstars to their own page, that way, it will be easier to scroll/navigate WP:BARN. If the proposal is successful, this will leave just the general & Wikipedia-space barnstars on WP:BARN. Jerm (talk) 18:04, 3 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

barnstars

is there a committee where one can nominate an editor to receive a barnstar, for specific actions or items? thanks. --Sm8900 (talk) 13:12, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Sm8900: you can just award one on your own to someone you think deserves it. --awkwafaba (📥) 13:21, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
ok, well how about to myself? --Sm8900 (talk) 13:30, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The Steward's Barnstar may be awarded to stewards who made a particularly difficult decision, did a tiresome but needed steward task, cleared some nasty backlog or just to show a steward that you think they are doing good work in a particular area of "the job" and that their work is appreciated. To be used when other, more specific, barnstars do not apply to the reasons at hand.

--Quick Quokka [talk] 13:59, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Looks too much like File:In The News Barnstar Hires.png. Jerm (talk) 22:24, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Jerm: Thanks for giving me the constructive and needed criticism!
Do you have any other ideas for what the steward barnstar could look like 🤔🤔🤔 Quick Quokka [talk] 13:50, 9 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@QuickQuokka: Replace the globe image with File:Wikimedia steward Icon.svg, or maybe File:Steward icon.png. And change the description to something like "The Steward's Barnstar may be awarded to stewards who tirelessly work to keep Wikimedia wikis blah blah blah" etc. I don't think the admin's barnstar description fits here. —GMX(on the go!) 20:45, 10 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@PorkchopGMX: Good idea. That was just a placeholder until I thought of something. What are some tasks that stewards do?
For the Logo, I think I want to use File:Wikimedia steward Icon.svg, but the globe looks ugly because the transparency doesn't really work well, and for the second file you suggested, I think that it's too low quality of a PNG. Quick Quokka [talk] 04:24, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@PorkchopGMX: Here's what I mean
Yes, Wikimedia steward Icon is much better, more distinguishable and still recognizable. Jerm (talk) 01:35, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Jerm: Sorry for not replying for so long, I forgot about this discussion because you forgot to ping me. I still think it doesn't look good because of the transparency. Any idea to fix it? QuickQuokka [talk] 13:56, 26 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@QuickQuokka: Honestly, I don't have any ideas on how to improve the design. I'd just stick on what is recognizable, an in this case, the Wikimedia steward Icon. I'm not too trilled about the Wikimedia steward Icon though. Jerm (talk) 13:10, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The Glossy Barnstar may be awarded to an editor with making good looking results.

COPPERwidth (💬) - (📋) 04:52, 16 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The criteria is too vague. What do you mean by “good looking” and “results”? Jerm (talk) 11:52, 16 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I think it's for editors that make good designs. COPPERwidth (💬) - (📋) 23:15, 16 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Good designs of what exactly? Jerm (talk) 20:00, 17 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Barnstar creator has been indef-blocked for sockpuppetry and per WP:NOTHERE. --Finngall talk 00:54, 18 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
