Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Vertical file, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Booklet (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 07:50, 22 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Double spacing after stops (periods)

[edit]

Please DON'T remove these - they are an entirely acceptable style choice in English, and you should not impose your preference (or what you are used to from German). Johnbod (talk) 04:02, 29 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Johnbod: Thank you for telling me, I have no idea why I have never heard of this debate/practice before! I will definitely be more cautious with this in the future :) Strickesel (talk) 17:08, 30 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I think you may find British English more prone to use doubles than US, but afaik both varieties can use either. Johnbod (talk) 01:47, 1 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
That said, most style guides nowadays prescribe single spaces, @Johnbod:. And "Microsoft Word now flags two spaces after a period as an error" (Source). So it's probably time to transition away from double spaces at Wikipedia, too. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 09:32, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

please see regarding thank: https://leela52452.gitlab.io/16.html

Leela52452 (talk) 14:11, 8 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Leela52452, the link you left me sadly leads to a page that doesn't exist (yet). Since you wrote that your message was about me thanking you for an edit, did you want to tell me that you don't want that? If so, I will not do it again, and only meant for it to convey to you that I'm grateful for your participation on the typo team. If you wanted to tell me something else, could you please write that to me again? Also in general: If you have any questions, I will happily answer them to the best of my capabilities. Best Wishes, Strickesel (talk) 14:26, 8 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dancing with the Devil

[edit]

Hi Strickesel,

I'm not sure what your edit on Dancing with the Devil was correcting, so I've undone it for now. I see your working on Typo Team moss as well, and just wanted to make sure you weren't using anything automated which made the incorrect changes. Thanks! JaAlDo (talk) 16:54, 9 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi JaAlDo (talk),
thank you very much for noticing and fixing my mistake. I wanted to fix the double spaces in the middle of the text and didn't notice that the 'replace text' was still wrong from fixing multiple bracket mistakes at once (that function is quite useful for that). I hope I'll be more watchful in the future, and thanks again for noticing! Strickesel (talk) 17:12, 9 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No worries! I just didn't want you to not notice a bug and then have to go back and change them all! JaAlDo (talk) 18:41, 9 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Missing you at the typos

[edit]

I hope you're OK! All good wishes, Ingratis (talk) 23:31, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for your message! It's nice to hear that I've been missed. I'm fine, I just don't feel all that comfortable at the T2's as both a beginner and non-native speaker, so I lost my motivation for a bit. I've started working on them again today, so I hope I'm back now! :) @Ingratis (talk) Strickesel (talk)
I hope you are too! Glad to hear you're OK. T2s are hard going. I've wandered off a bit as well, as I get very bored with commas and whitespaces, but will try again a bit later. All best wishes! Ingratis (talk) 12:08, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ancient Greek typos

[edit]

Hi Strickesel, thanks for fixing typos on Ancient Greek temple! I remind you though that peristaseis is plural for peristasis and so two of the changes you made I have changed back, since the text speaks of more than one peristasis in those instances. Thanks! You need to try out the "Slapped with a wet trout" infobox

[edit]

If you touch the infobox, it allows you to live a message that showcases a trout that says "You did something silly." It could help you if you make a mistake and someone wants to use it.

It links to your "If I did something wrong, let me know" part of your page :)
