The 2009 Beemapally police shooting was an incident that happened in Beemapally, a coastal area in southern Kerala, India.[1] Six persons died and 42 others were injured. The Malayalam movie Malik was loosely based on this incident.[2] Four policemen were suspended and the city police commissioner was transferred in the aftermath.[3]
