Kusheshwar Asthan or K. Asthan is a town and a notified area of the Darbhanga in the Indian state of Bihar. Kusheshwar Asthan also known as mithilanchal dev ghar.

Kusheshwar Asthan Bird Sanctuary

Kusheshwar Asthan Bird Sanctuary is a perfect tourist spot for all the wildlife lovers. It consists of 14 villages that come under Kusheshwar Asthan block in Darbhanga that remain waterlogged most of the times. These wetlands are winter capital to at least 15 endangered species of migratory birds from places as far as Mongolia and Siberia. Under Wildlife Protection Act of 1972, these villages (spreading over 7019.75 acres) have been declared as Kusheshwar Asthan Bird Sanctuary. You can spot Dalmatian Pelican, Indian Darter, Bar-headed goose, Siberian Crane and many more between November and March. Kusheshwar Shiva Temple lies nearby from which the name of this place is derived.

Kusheshwar Asthan Shiv Temple

Kusheshwar Asthan Shiv Temple also known as mithilanchal dev ghar in Kusheshwar Asthan. It is an important religious place, situated about 16 Km. east of Singhia and 22 Km. northeast of Hasanpur Road railway station on the Samastipur, Khagaria Branch line of North Eastern Railway. It is noted for the temple of Lord Shiva known as baba Kusheshwarasthan. Pligrims visit this place all the year round for worship. The origin of this temple is traced to the epic period.
